A ten-year standing relationship on a senior living campus in Santee, across new construction phases, renovation cycles, and three different care tiers.
Lantern Crest is a large, multi-phase senior living campus in Santee, with independent living, assisted living, and memory care housing across buildings completed over more than a decade. We've been the tile and countertop partner on that campus from the early phases forward: new construction, renovation cycles, and finish standards that had to stay consistent between buildings built years apart.

- Surface scope sequenced with cabinet and casework trades
Consistency across a decade, and across three care tiers that each raise the bar.
Senior living raises the bar on what multifamily-style work needs to be. Floor tile has to hold up to daily use and wheelchair traffic. Wet-area detail matters more because safety matters more. Memory care has different layout and durability expectations than independent living. And the three tiers share a campus, so the transitions between them have to read as one project.
The harder move is consistency across years. The finish standard from the first phase had to still read as one campus by the time the latest building landed. That means holding material specs, grout standards, transition details, and fit-and-finish to the same bar a decade later, through staff turnover, material availability shifts, and the hundred small decisions that compound over years.
How we delivered it
- 01
A long-term working relationship
Direct line to ownership and the builders from one phase to the next. Same scoping conversation, same expectations, same crew showing up to lay out the next phase like it's a continuation of the last one, because it is.
- 02
Standardized materials and methods
Material specs and install methods locked across phases, so building seven reads like building one. Grout lines, transitions, wet-area detail, and surface edges all match across buildings built years apart.
- 03
Clean work inside an active campus
Renovation and expansion scopes run while residents are in place. We sequence around active areas, work quiet where we need to, and keep sites clean between phases so staff and residents aren't navigating construction dust.
- 04
Adapted for each care tier
Install specs tuned for the reality of each environment: durability and safety for assisted living and memory care, cleaner design-forward detail for independent living units. Same crew, tiered execution.
What the work actually delivered
Ten-year standing partner
Not a one-off subcontract. The tile and countertop relationship on the campus from the early phases forward.
Consistent finish across phases
The campus reads as one project even though it was built in multiple phases over a decade.
Hundreds of units delivered
Across independent living, assisted living, and memory care, new construction and renovation scopes both.
This is what a long-term commercial relationship looks like when consistency matters more than volume, and when the same crew is still the crew a decade later.
